Hong Kong

My decision to come to India was very last minute, so I couldn't get the same plane ticket as everyone else. The cheapest ticket I found online after searching for almost 2 days turned out to be the one arriving and leaving only 30 minutes earlier and than the group's flight, so it fit the schedule perfectly. Furthermore, the ticket had a layover in Hong Kong both ways (7 hours on the way to India and more than 15 hours on the way back), which turned out to be perfect for me because I really wanted to go to HK but didn't have the budget or time to do so.

????? One thing I noticed about Hong Kong escalators:
(and I still dont know WHY - someone pleasssse explain this to me)
You have to circle around and go to the opposite side to keep going up (or down)
Unlike the Korean and US ones where the escalators going the same direction
are located right next to each other.
One thought I have is that people are forced to look at the shops next to them
as they walk around to the other side.

I really don't get it, can someone PLEASSEEEEE tell me?

I wasn't feeling so great on the plane so I barely ate anything that day.
So excited about the dumpling soup....

India - Arrival

Sitting in my hotel room, listening to some Indian music blasting outside, I'm reflecting on my first day in India... (oh, all the light in my room and the AC suddenly turned off. I thought it was the hotel card that was malfunctioning but I realized my computer wasn't charging either and the wifi suddenly stopped working... apparently the whole power went out for a minute? Yes, talk about the process of urbanization).

Being in India is a surreal experience for me...
If I were traveling in India and following the footsteps of countless visitors who came to India to see, hear, and taste the India today, my experience wouldn't have been anything more than that of a typical tourist.
But I am here to sketch out my future in this rapidly developing country. This is my first time in India, so I guess I'm in the brainstorming stage.

There plane had some technical issue in Korea so they had to wait around for more than an hour

인사동 이야기

인사동은 외국인들에게 한국 전통의 거리라고 유명하지만

나에게도 추억거리를 되세기게 해 주는 고마운 거리이다.

몇시간 시간을 내서 거리 끝에서 끝까지 걸으면서

옛날 초등학교 끝나고 집에 갈때 사먹었던 불량식품도 사 먹고

뽑기도 해보고, 또 아기자기한것들을 사보면

그새 옛날 그시절로 돌아간듯한 느낌이다

이번에 정말 처음으로 본 터키 전통 아이스크림

이 사람 한국말도 잘하고 장사도 끝내주게 잘한다

애들 놀려먹기 ㅋㅋ

완전 애기 울릴번 했음

인사동만 Starbucks가 한글로 써져 있다

인사동 거리를 걷다가 전시회가 있다길래 들어감 ㅋ

쫌 짜긴 했지만 완전 맛있었음

(근데 그 전날 부산에서 환상의 된장찌개를 맛 봤기에... 이 된장찌개는 별로였음 ㅋㅋ)

계단없이 낮은 경사로로 된 램프를 따라 

옆에 위치한 아기자기한 shop들을 구경하며 걷다보면

어느새 4층으로 올라와있는 인사동 한복판에 위치한 신기한 건물!

Ssamziegil 이름 한번 참 어렵네 ㅋㅋ

 

 

보이다 싶이 경사진 램프가 쭈~욱 연결되있다

램프 옆에 계단도 있긴 하다

그 계단 가운데서 4층까지 뻗어있는 장미

벽에는 요런 귀여운 그림까지!

빈공간이라면 자기들만의 이야기를 담고파 하는

한국인의 센스 (?)

옥상위 친환경건축...이라는데 나는 쉽게 옥상정원! ㅋㅋ

 

옥상에 정말 랜덤하게 요것들이 있네 ㅋㅋ

쌈지길은 어딜가나 아기자기한 디자인이 너무 맘에 든다

요기조기 돌아보며 탐방해도 정말 재밌을것같은 재미있는 골목!
